CLUBS AND LITERARY ACTIVITIES IN BUCKSWOOD SCHOOL
The core aim of education is to foster all round development of a student. All round development essentially means intellectual, physical, moral and social development.To fulfill this objective, there is an important need of striking a balance between syllabus coverage and co-curricular engagement.
Co-curricular activities are activities that are undertaken side by side with the curricular activities. A co-curricular activity essentially takes place outside a typical pen and pencil classroom experience. It gives the students an opportunity to develop particular skills and exhibit their non-academic abilities.
Our believeat Buckswood School Nigeria is that every student has a talent.Therefore, the academic programme of our school is structured to enhance both academic prowess and non-academic abilities that altogether makestudents rounded individuals in the society.
The intrinsic nature of talents has made our School to place premium on engaging students in co-curricular activities that would assist them in identifying their talent. After identification, nurturing talents becomes easy through seasoned professionals.
At Buckswood School Nigeria, there are different avenues by which talents can be discovered. No student is left out at Buckwood School Nigeria. Students fall into different Houses and Clubs that encourage self-confidence, competition, team work, and individual discovery of latent abilities.
Co-curricular activities are fun in at Buckswood School Nigeria. To start with, students are divided into different Houses namely: i. Milne House,
- Rowling House,
iii. Wells House and
- Kipling House.
Every week, students make presentation from a variety of programmes mapped out at the beginning of the term. The programme ranges from:
- Literary and Debate, Drama,
- Talk show, Poem Rendition,
- Quiz, Song Presentation,
- Dance Performance, Speech Presentation,
- Music and Instrumental Performanceand
- Choreography Presentation.
Every week students from each House stage any of the above listed performances/presentation before the entire student community and staff. They are graded at the end of the day by judges specialized in the field. At the end of the term, the best House with the highest points getsan award and a certificate.
It is pertinent to note that more than the award for excellent performance being given, students get to find theareas where they can discover their talent and develop it through the various tasks giving to them each week.
In addition to the activities presented every week, students also have the opportunity to join any of the following clubs: i. Languages and Historical Club

- Languages and Historical Club:
This club is unique because it is a blend of two different fields (Language and History). The club is opened to students who have flair for languages and want to learn more. In this club, students have the opportunity to improve their language skills by making presentations and speeches in the various languages. They brush up on their French, Spanish and English Language through mediums like role playing in drama, talk show, song and poem renditions.
In addition to this, students have fun in learning more about history of nations and places. It is a club that gives students the opportunity to explore and carry out research on both past and current affairs. This makes students keep abreast with the day to day events making the news, and that in turn becomes history tomorrow.
- Creative Art Club:
Instructors help students to bring artistic ideas into reality. With little prodding, students come up with different creative ideas. These ideas are transformed into reality. They are guided by instructors on how to use various resources at their disposal in painting, drawing and sculpting.
- Young Scientist and Mathematicians:
Students who desire to advance the course of science like Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Pythagoras of Samos and Leonhard Euler are attracted to this club. Like other clubs above, learning here too is fun. Mathematical problems are tackled and easy ways of solving problems are learnt. Different scientific and mathematical games are explored and enjoyed by students in this club.
